The Colorado Rapids selected a pair of 21-year-old forwards in the second round of the 2018 MLS SuperDraft on Friday at the Convention Center in Philadelphia.

The Rapids drafted Alan Winn from the University of North Carolina and Frantzdy Pierrot of Coastal Carolina University with the second and fourth picks of the second round, respectively.

Winn, originally from Garland, Texas, led the Tar Heels last season with 11 goals and was a MAC Hermann Trophy Semifinalist and second team All-American while leading his team to the NCAA College Cup. The 5-foot-10, 162-pound striker bagged 23 goals and 14 assists in his four seasons in Chapel Hill.

Pierrot, who was born in Port-au-Prince, Haiti, tallied 10 goals and four assists last season for the Chanticleers. The 6-foot-4, 205-pound attacker was named the Sun Belt Conference’s player of the year.

Colorado did not have a pick in the first round after trading it in 2016 to the Montreal Impact in exchange for defender Eric Miller. Montreal then traded the No. 4 overall pick to FC Dallas in exchange for $200,000 in general allocation money. Dallas selected striker Francis Atuahene from the University of Michigan with the pick.

The state of Colorado had one player selected in the first round: University of Denver defender Graham Smith. The 6-foot-3, 186-pound center back from Highlands Ranch was selected No. 18 overall by Sporting Kansas City. The 22-year-old Mountain Vista High School grad was a product of the Real Colorado Academy.
